If you thought to yourself on your last visit to Vinnie’s, “Wow, that bartender could use a shave”, you are right! Our very own Steve MacNeillage and his team, Team Sawyer, (including Rahim Sanders, Renee Jordan and another Vinnie’s staffer, Cortina Ainsworth) will be participating in this year’s St. Baldrick’s event. Join us at Lynnwood Grill on Sunday, April 24th from 1-6 pm to see all that hair get shaved off! Please make plans to show your support for Steve and Team Sawyer as they help to raise money for the fight against childhood cancer.
If you have not reserved your seats for our upcoming wine dinner, they are going quickly! We will be hosting McCrorie Family Vineyards, aka “Burly” from Napa Valley on Thursday, April 14th. The price will be $100 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and a menu with pairings will be available soon, but seating will be limited, so don’t wait to reserve yours.
Chef Tom has some great features in the kitchen this week. From our friends at Sunburst Trout Farms in the NC Mountains, we have a Smoked Trout Pate with Pickled Vegetables and Toasted Baguette.
As Spring sets in and the weather warms up, Chef Tom is ready to bring back a new version of our Raleigh City Farm Salad. This week it will consist of beautiful Mixed Baby Lettuces with Purple Radishes, Roquefort, Toasted Cornbread Crumble and a Pickled Beet Vinaigrette.
From our friends at Locals Seafood, we’ll have NC Vermilion Snapper with Sunchokes, Oyster Mushrooms and Vibrant Spring Pea Shoots.
Also with Spring flavors in mind, Chef Tom is lightening things up a bit this week in the dessert department. We will be serving a refreshing scoop of Lemon-Buttermilk Ice Cream with Freshly Baked Pecan Sandies as our featured dessert. And for those of you who are dying to know, Honeysuckle season is getting close…probably about 6 weeks away!
